VION was founded in 1830 and has always manufactured navigation equipment, in particular compasses and marine instruments.

On the strength of their renowned quality, VION instruments were very soon present on every ocean and equipped many great cargo ships of the XIXth and beginning of the XXth century.

VION equipped aircraft from the pioneering days of aviation and later those of the long-distance flights such as Paris-Saigon or the Atlantic crossing en 1930.

Since 1945, many military programmes were also equipped with VION compasses, in particular Dassault "Mirage" and "Mystère" aircraft.

VION is also the creator of the renowned MINI 2000 hand bearing compass, mythical yachting object, that -thanks to its legendary qualities- revolutionized coastal navigation.

VION, today, has several military contracts, both French and International. Permanently geared towards innovation, VION has registered a great number of patents.
